Born in Harbin, 1943.
In 1965, while a student at the University of Tokyo, she won the 2nd Japan Amateur Chanson Competition and made her debut as a singer.
In 1966, she won the Record Grand Prize for Best Newcomer for "Akai Fuusen"; in 1969, "Hitori Sleep No Komori Uta" and in 1971, "Shiretoko Tabijo" became million sellers and won the Record Grand Prize for Best Singing.
Since then, he has released over 80 albums and many hit songs.
In 1992, she was awarded the Chevalier de la Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government for her achievements in artistic and cultural activities.
In recent years, they have performed at the Fuji Rock Festival every year, attracting audiences of all ages and genres.
In addition, his annual year-end concert, "Honoroi Concert," in which he sings while drinking sake, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2022, and has become a popular concert.
